Amandine - Registered Nurse, Christchurch

Bonjour - I am from France and came to NZ in February 2016.  I have now secured a position in Christchurch conducting health checks and work assessments.

The process to come to NZ took me approximately 1 month.  The easiest part of the process was to get on the plane and come! I had already left my country 1 year earlier and had settled in New Caledonia, so I found the move over to NZ fine. The most challenging part of the process was finding a job in my profession, and trying to understand the English language - the kiwi accent is difficult!

My first impressions of NZ were that everybody is nice and what a beautiful country it is. I especially love the South Island. What I miss the most is my family, friends, and a French bakery.

My advice if you are planning to come to NZ is - don’t be shy if you want meet people!
