My Name is Emma Johnstone and I am Registered Nurse. I came to NZ on the 2nd June 2021 from Scotland.
The process to come to NZ took me a year and it was massively delayed due to COVID. The easiest part of the process was making the decision to move. The most challenging part of the process was working around the issues with COVID, a lot of places in Scotland closed down so I had difficulty getting the information I needed for a visa - and trying to get a space in MIQ!
My first impressions of NZ were that it’s beautiful. We definitely made the right decision. The mountains, the beaches and the views are the best parts of NZ. I specifically like being outdoors and in amongst the gorgeous scenery. I plan to visit the Abel Tasman as our next adventure.
We live in Christchurch, it’s so beautiful and very up and coming. You have the hills one side and beaches the other. The work/life balance has made a difference to my life because I am able to spend more time with my husband. I miss my family the most.
My advice if you are planning to come to NZ is to Do it! It’s a big process but worth every minute.
